Our Mission
Pine River Anthology (PRA) is an award-winning juried annual magazine consisting of art, poems, and other short prose written by Alma College students.
Currently in its 73nd year, PRA is a student-led collaboration between both the English and Art departments seeking to promote creativity on campus and unify two imaginative mediums, while establishing appreciation for the arts and honoring the talent of students. The club meets once a week to discuss themes for the publication, produce and distribute posters, create cover designs, select and edit submissions, and format the book.
2025-2026 PRA Team
Emma Risinger
Editor-in-Chief
Emma (She/They) is a Junior majoring in Biology and Visual Art. This is her second year as part of the PRA staff and her first year acting as editor in chief. She is excited to help lead this years team in creating another wonderful publication. They are passionate about PRA and is working to improve the future of the anthology, preserving this amazing opportunity for future students. She believes that PRA is one of the best ways for students at Alma to express themselves and their truth, something that is more important now than it has been in previous years. Art is truth, and in an era where truth is under attack, art is integral to existance. PRA does not just reflect us—we are the anthology. We are art, lyric, meter, poetry, even words themselves, and PRA is our medium.
